11. MAPPING OF MEANING - THE MECHANISM OF MEANING

Consider that any representation or system may be used as a map when paired with or plotted against an object or an environment. This section deals with representations of: the process of mapping itself; the double aspect of sign; the relation of denotation to connotation (property of meaning); the relations of signifieds to each other. Use will be made of projection, distortion and 'negative' mapping in an environment to surround and suggest the arrangements of areas of meaning.
